Gender Equality (GROUP1)

 This topic was very controversial not only in the United States but in the entire world. This topic was very explained by group 1. Every gender is treated differently in all countries. Learning about pink tax how women have to pay for necessities, and even worse when it's always overpriced. Men and women have a lot of different spectrums and are treated completely differently. From voting rights, men always had the access to vote but never women. women fought for their rights for decades. Fighting for rights helped them gain the 14th amendment which is the right to vote. Men always had it a lot easier than women and would even decide what women can do with their bodies. Not even being able to drive in Saudi Arabia. Women and men have different pay wages till this day. Women have to do a lot more to be recognized and noticed by people.

 Another topic they brought up was the experience women have. Sexual harassment is a very disturbing action people commit. It is also a very traumatizing experience for everyone. statics show 9 out of 10 victims of rape are women. This such as sad truth women has to experience. getting cat-called by people and making them feel uncomfortable on a day-to-day basis is so sad. Work areas are the most common places for women to get sexually harassed. They get harassed in many ways verbal, physical, and much more. This is the worst part of being a woman. not only they don't get accepted much by society and this tops the cake with such sad truth of being a woman. Group 1 adding the video from Gretchen Carlson helped their topic a lot. This helped bring more awareness to the idea. This is a very sad and real truth women face every day. Group 1 did an amazing job presenting its topic. They explained very well and helped shed light on the issues we still face to this day. Helping us be aware of what is going till this day.

Climate Change (GROUP2)

 This topic was one very important one and something we need very much awareness for. Climate change is one very controversial topic and needed to be resolved in any way as fast as possible. Our earth is dying slowly and no one doing much about it. Group 2 helped bring ways to stop this problem and bring awareness to the topic. This is causing such harm as pollution which causes the earth to get hotter and hotter. the north pole is slowly melting away and dying off. animals become extinct and die from this climate change. we are the biggest blame for this clime change and harm. we caused this issue and we also need to turn it around, fix it. This change has increased our allergies to worsen over time. Also, sea levels have increased so much by later on our land to flood. It is quite crazy that we stopped caring about the place we live. we need to help our earth and revive it again. group 2 helped us find ways to fix this issue such as recycling and stopping littering. recycling helps us reuse our waste and use it for something else. not increase more waste over time and flood this earth with just waste. use our bottles of water for much more use. Our coral reef is slowly dying as well from waste. our animals have been dying from waste and pollution. Group 2 did a great job on this topic. they helped us find a way to solve this issue and shed light on the harms of climate change.

Infrastructure (GROUP3)

 This was my group focusing on building and transportation in the whole world. We taught the ways the differences between countries on their infrastructure. we are not one of the best countries with infrastructure and we should find a way to help this. Singapore and Switzerland are some of the best countries for infrastructure. we lack how our building last and the poor construction. Taking years to create any building or bridge. we experienced many falls of buildings and bridges. such as Surfside of summer of this year, a huge apartment complex falling into pieces and killing many families. we should start doing more checkups in these buildings and fix this issue. many people have been dying because of these types of issues. Also, like the FIU bridge falling apart on top of cars. in 2018 this under-construction building collapsed on top of eight cars and caused 6 deaths. this was very devastating and could have been resolved. we get our infrastructure budget from taxes. we need a higher budget for these buildings so they can last longer and reduce deaths. showing the differences in countries and bringing up the differences. The United States is one of the lowest countries in infrastructure. we waste the lowest amount for it and that explains why we lack so much. so many collapses and damaged lives. taking away people's lives because we decided not to take part in taking care of buildings and do daily checkups. we showed many informative videos to introduce the topic and help our classmates as possible to understand. we had an interview and also created a Kahoot game for all of us to play. we wanted to entertain and bring awareness to our classmates.

2nd Presentation by Jorge L. Alvarez

  In the second round of presentations, three major topics were addressed: They were Gender Equality, Infrastructure, and Climate Change. These topics, which are all very controversial and newsworthy topics, have been bouncing around in public perception for a while now, but despite that, have not particularly been explained well. The presentations of my own group, and those of Groups One and Two have cleared things up. Group 1: Gender Inequality [SPC 1017] In the following presentation, a great deal was learned about the origin of gender equality, and the suffrage movements of the 1800-1900s. We saw how women gained the right to vote, and the circumstances around that. We also learned about the various forms that sexual harassment can take, and the perceptions that different cultures have on those forms of sexual harassment.       Group 1 Gender Inequality Gender inequality has existed for hundreds of years. Fortunately for us, who live in the United States, it has evolved quite dramatically. It is factual that men in the past have been paid more money in the same profession with the same education as women. As western civilization has evolved, so have the minds of the newer generations.   It is no longer a man’s world.   Woman are not made to stay home, cook and take care of the children.   Woman are far more educated and are obtaining and holding the same positions as men.   Even in the military, there are high ranking officers that are woman.   It currently exist in every field and trade.   Women are able to secure jobs that at one point were only held by men.
