Chapter 3 which was presented by group one on Intercultural Communication. With their presentation, they performed an incredible job. The link between communication and culture is the topic of this chapter. Chapter 3 delves into how cultures interact and differ in situations involving communication. The first task for group one was to define culture and the role of communication within a standard cultural system of values, beliefs, and attitudes. And some rules govern what is considered acceptable within a group of people who have shared a similar life experience. The interaction of persons from various cultural backgrounds, both verbally and nonverbally, is known as intercultural communication. Intercultural communication entails the exchange of information between people from various cultures. Individuals with different social ethics, religions, and educational backgrounds comprise social groups. Cultural boundaries, intercultural communication training is essential to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between civilizations. A surrounding group's culture is the domain group's culture, and co-cultures of gender, religion, or age group, among other things. The first group discusses the differences between race and ethnicity. The race is defined as a physical characteristic. And ethnicity is a term that refers to a group's shared culture, practices, values, and beliefs. This could include things like a common language, religion, or tradition. Individuals may identify or self-identify with ethnicity complex in the same way they do with race. They also discuss sexual orientation and how many people identify themselves differently in group one's appearance.
Chapter 9 "communicating in groups" by group 2:
Chapter 9 was presented by Group 2, and each member of the group did an outstanding job with their presentation. This chapter emphasizes the significance of remembering the various groups and understanding their differences to overcome hurdles. Group 2 begins its presentation by discussing the many types of groupings. They begin by defining family, which they define as a group of people who have a shared history. A social group, support group, service group, workgroup, virtual group, and interest group are all-natural types of groups. A social group is about two persons who share common interests. Everyone in a social group has the opportunity to express their thoughts and opinions. A support group is a group of different people that gather together to cheer each other on. An interest group is a collection of different people with a shared interest. Forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning are the five stages of group growth. Conflict can arise in groups. Conflict is brutal to avoid in groups, but it is up to the group members to prevent it from occurring. When working in groups, We must set our differences aside, especially cultural differences. Alternatively, any other disagreements we may have with other group members. When working in groups, we all must watch the broader picture to achieve a common goal while focusing on executing the job well. When working in groups, it is critical to resolving any conflicts. It can resolve a dispute by communicating with each other or seeking assistance from the person in authority.
Chapter 10 "group leadership and problem-solving" presented by group 3:
Chapter 10 was presented by group 3 (my group) we did a pretty good job with our presentation. Our group leaders we're like our hardest workers which were Jorge and Waymond, they both were very co operative and if I had a question for them they would give me a clear answer. Our chapter discussed the effective leadership and problem-solving in groups. We started the presentation focusing on leadership and task leadership roles, which was about about leaders helping themselves and others to do the right thing. Then we setup task roles for each leader which were three groups. Which were givers, seekers, and analyzers. The next topic for the presentation was effective meetings, it explained how someone should be prepared for a meeting. The next topic after that was systematic problem solving meaning that it we explained how you analyze a problem and find the correct way to solve it. Communicating group solutions explained, how we generate a host of solutions like never judging someone else's opion and respecting others so we all work better. Lastly we our group concluded with how we evaluate group effectiveness which to be effective you need basic things like Ideas, Commitment, Acceptance, Respect, Determination, and the Differences of opinions.
