Second Presentation Reflection -Victoria Iglesias

Group 1 Gender Inequality Gender inequality has existed for hundreds of years. Fortunately for us, who live in the United States, it has evolved quite dramatically. It is factual that men in the past have been paid more money in the same profession with the same education as women. As western civilization has evolved, so have the minds of the newer generations.   It is no longer a man’s world.   Woman are not made to stay home, cook and take care of the children.   Woman are far more educated and are obtaining and holding the same positions as men.   Even in the military, there are high ranking officers that are woman.   It currently exist in every field and trade.   Women are able to secure jobs that at one point were only held by men. At one point in history, only men were allowed to vote. In 1896, woman gained the right to vote in four states, including Utah, Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming. It wasn’t until 1919 and the 19 th amendm...

2nd Presentation by Jorge L. Alvarez

In the second round of presentations, three major topics were addressed: They were Gender Equality, Infrastructure, and Climate Change. These topics, which are all very controversial and newsworthy topics, have been bouncing around in public perception for a while now, but despite that, have not particularly been explained well. The presentations of my own group, and those of Groups One and Two have cleared things up. Group 1: Gender Inequality [SPC 1017] In the following presentation, a great deal was learned about the origin of gender equality, and the suffrage movements of the 1800-1900s. We saw how women gained the right to vote, and the circumstances around that. We also learned about the various forms that sexual harassment can take, and the perceptions that different cultures have on those forms of sexual harassment. It was shown that active listening may solve a few issues, in the sense that complaints will be heard, and hopefully addressed. The ruling of Roe vs Wade was ...

2nd Presentation Blog By Luisjose Nuñez

Gender Equality (GROUP1)  This topic was very controversial not only in the United States but in the entire world. This topic was very explained by group 1. Every gender is treated differently in all countries. Learning about pink tax how women have to pay for necessities, and even worse when it's always overpriced. Men and women have a lot of different spectrums and are treated completely differently. From voting rights, men always had the access to vote but never women. women fought for their rights for decades. Fighting for rights helped them gain the 14th amendment which is the right to vote. Men always had it a lot easier than women and would even decide what women can do with their bodies. Not even being able to drive in Saudi Arabia. Women and men have different pay wages till this day. Women have to do a lot more to be recognized and noticed by people.  Another topic they brought up was the experience women have. Sexual harassment is a very disturb...

Second presentation reflection by Nathanael Israel

“Gender Inequality” Presented by group 1   The topic of gender Inequality was presented by group1. They did a great job with their presentation. I love the way group 1 always set up their slides with pictures, colors, etc. What caught my attention was when Angela was presenting, her part of the presentation when she talks, about how abortion should be pro-choice, that a group of men should not be allowed to decide what a female should do with their body. Gender inequality is the social phenomenon in which men and women are not treated equally. The treatment may arise from distinctions regarding biology, psychology, or cultural norms prevalent in society. The Topic of gender inequality stems from many subtopics. which include history, Finance, social treatment, and government. Gender inequality plays a huge role in the daily lives of millions of people around the world. In group 1 presentation, we see how Gender inequality can affect us personally. Group1 starts their prese...

Second Presentation Reflection By Laura De La Rosa

Group 1 Gender Inequality : In this presentation, we learned how gender inequality affects millions of people all around the world on a daily basis. We learned about the history of gender inequality and about events such as the women's suffrage movement in the 1800s - 1900s and how hard women fought in order to be able to vote and have their voices heard. It was an extensive process but they didn't give up and by 1919 women across the country were granted the opportunity to vote. We saw the various turning points throughout women's history and learned about the progress made in the United States in terms of gender disparity. While women's rights have definitely improved we still have a long way to go as theirs still many hurdles and injustices women still face to this day, as we learned from group one's presentation we're still treated very differently in the workplace and are paid substantially less than men. We were also informed on the different forms of sexi...
