presentation 2 reflection by Jorge Niebla
"Gender Inequality" presented by group 1:
Group 1 covered the topic of gender inequality. They delivered an excellent presentation. The first group begins their presentation by discussing gender discrimination in the early 1900s. Anisha, the presenter, discusses the women's suffrage movement from the 1800s through the 1990s. Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth Cady founded the National Woman Suffrage Association. Its goal was to change the 14th Amendment to allow women, particularly African Americans, to vote. They did not just want to fight for voting rights. They also advocated for social reforms based on broad economic and political equality. I learned quite a lot about gender inequality in the 1900s throughout this part of the presentation. Group 1 also explained talked about sexual harassment and other forms of sexual harassment, which were examples of sexism. Sexual harassment does not necessarily have to overtly or involve sexual acts. According to the statistics that group 1 presented, nine out of ten rape victims are women. The most common place where this sexual harassment takes place would be at work. Overall I feel like group 1's presentation was an exciting insight on Gender Inequality and how it is very much a real thing that happens in our world.
"Climate change" presented by group 2:
Group 2 presented the topic of climate change. The presentations of Group 2 began with a definition of climate change. Climate change is a frightening occurrence, with many elements contributing to the planet's deterioration. Drought, constant earth warnings, rising sea levels, and coral bleaching are the worrisome factors. The causes have harmed our planet and continue to represent a threat to all forms of life on the globe. Sea life is shifting its geography toward the poles due to climate change and changing temperatures. As a result of rising temperatures, extended allergy seasons, and poor air quality, allergens become more prevalent. As a result, seasonal allergies are on the rise, according to Group 2. According to a growing body of data, climate change is causing warmer temperatures and increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In the ecosystem, air pollution can harm crops and plants in various ways. Finally, group one made a list of measures to prevent global warming. Overall, group 2's perspective on climate change made me rethink a lot about our ecosystem and made me believe even more about how we must protect our planet.
"Infrastructure" presented by group 3:
Group 3 finally presented Infrastructure (this was my group); my group started with an Introduction to Infrastructure. Explaining how Infrastructure includes multiple systems belonging to a business, region, or nation. My group then explained the technology of Infrastructure, which explained how components are required to operate and manage enterprise IT environments in Infrastructure. Then came my part, which was about the construction of Infrastructure, which mainly was pitting the other Infrastructure of countries against each other and telling the differences, like, for instance, the Infrastructure of America vs. Europe. After my presentation, my group then went and explained how Infrastructure impacts the environment. For instance, whenever we need to build different installations of Infrastructure, we must destroy ecosystems that significantly impact the environment. My group then continued into looking into the financial side of Infrastructure, and Infrastructure can be costly, seeing as president Biden signed a bill for Infrastructure that was worth 1 trillion dollars. Then my group finished our presentation with how Infrastructure affects developing countries/cities, explaining how Infrastructure is still going to be the future going forward, like how most cities still continue to innovate their Infrastructure. Overall, group 3 did a very good job at explaining Infrastructure.
